Debt Review Removal

Two routes. One clear assessment.

Debt Review Removal can follow a Court Route or a Clearance Route. The correct route depends on your current status, account position and supporting documents.

Choose the correct route

Court Route or Clearance Route.

We do not place every Debt Review client into the same process. We first establish which route is appropriate.

01Debt Review Removal

Court Route

For matters that require a court process before the Debt Review status can be lawfully updated.

What we look at

  • Your current Debt Review status
  • Existing court or consent-order documents
  • Debt counsellor and account records
  • Your payment and account position
  • Whether a court application is legally appropriate
Where legal proceedings are required, the legal work is handled by the appointed legal practitioner.

02Debt Review Removal

Clearance Route

For consumers who meet the legal requirements for a Debt Review clearance certificate.

What we look at

  • Whether the relevant Debt Review obligations have been satisfied
  • Paid-up letters and settlement confirmations
  • Debt counsellor and DHS records
  • Credit bureau information
  • Whether the requirements for clearance are met
Where the legal requirements are met, the registered debt counsellor handles the statutory clearance certificate process.
Assess My Clearance Route
Before we choose

We assess your actual position.

A quick look at the Debt Review flag is not enough. The route needs to match the facts and documents on the file.

The Court Route and Clearance Route are different processes. A route is only confirmed after assessment.
